Treatment Efficacy and Medical Warnings:

Recent unexplained hair growth could be a sign of more serious health concerns including, but not limited to: adrenal virilism, Stein-Leventhal syndrome, ovarian cancer, hypothyroidism, Cushing syndrome, or iatrogenic reactions. Advise your patient to consult their physician.

Pointers:  Human skin has roughly 1,000 follicles per square inch. Only a small percentage of them are active (anagen) at any given time. For effective treatment, the hair needs to be treated during the anagen phase. It normally takes about 90 days for each follicle to go through the full growth cycle. Should you see hair growth activity in an area which has been completely cleared it is most likely from a follicle which was dormant at the time of the original treatment. Simply apply thermolysis to these hairs as they appear. All hair growth activity will normally terminate within 3 months.

The following values are suggestions only. Each hair will have some variance to the rate of thermolysis due to moisture levels, stage of unwanted hair growth etc. The primary deciding factor in the success of thermolysis is how easily the hair slides from the follicle shaft. Should you encounter a hair that does not release from the cuticle within the specified time, continue to treat until it slides out from the pore with little effort.

Every so often you will come across a hair that is very stubborn, especially male facial hair growth. Should the hair remain firmly attached even after treating for 3 to 5 times the values below, leave it in the skin and move on. Try it once again in about 5 minutes. It should come out easily the second time.
