What is Intense Pulsed Light? It's a revolutionary improvement to laser cosmetology and is similar to laser hair removal in many ways. The emission source, however, is far superior in overall cost, dependability, total fluence (power) and adjustability.

A powerful flash lamp delivers an emission 20 times greater than a typical laser (in diameter at 180 jcm2/sec.). This energy is filtered with coated optics. Heat is removed with a Schott K.G.1. filter, then all wavelengths beyond 808 are removed with a MgF2 coated DCX lens. The purified photons are sent through Ruby, Sapphire or BK7 glass condenser and all UVC radiation is eliminated.

The end result is an ultra-safe, highly-usable, super-density photon emission with performance substantially equivalent of an ordinary laser.

The Benefits of IPL over Laser for Epilation: Much larger areas can be completed in far less time. A typical man's chest would require about 60 minutes with a laser device. The IPL could do the same job in less than 10 minutes.

IPL also works on persons who are far outside of the acceptable range on the Fitzpatrick skin pigment grading scale. A type 5 and 6 (African) could be treated safely with the sapphire optics accessory.

No hair is vaporized so there is far lower risk of scarring around the hair follicle itself (from the intense heat).
